Residents of Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands, are preparing to share their skills and knowledge with visitors during an upcoming festival. ‘Seo é Inis Oírr’ will celebrate the traditional culture and crafts of Inis Oírr from the 24th-26thMay. The weekend’s centerpiece will be hands-on workshops taught by locals such as Seaweed cookery, Aran knitting, Willow basket-making, Dry stonewall building and Sean nós dancing. The weekend package offers a unique inside glimpse of life on an Irish island. In addition to taking three of the offered workshops, participants will join the community in opening a craftwork exhibition on Friday evening, and still have ample time to enjoy other activities on Inis Oírr such as traditional music sessions, scenic walks and pony & trap tours.
