Moyglass Bakery has been supplying the people of Galway with Hand Made Freshness for the past 30 years. Husband and wife team Norbet & Barbara Illien started selling their baked goods on St. Nicholas market in 1984. Their speciality was an Organic sour dough bread that was yeast free and wheat free. In 2002 the business was passed over to their son Paul Illien. He continued on with the sour dough bread and added his own flair to the baking and came up with some wonderful new recipes for cakes and bread. We make a lovely selection of breads sourcing only the best Organic flour. We specialise in YEAST FREE, SUGAR FREE, DAIRY FREE & WHEAT FREE breads including Rye, Spelt and the new “wonder grain” Kamut. Our Organic Wholemeal Breads are made from 100% Organic Wholemeal Flour, Spring Water and a tiny pinch of salt. There are absolutely no fats, oils, sugars, preservatives or chemicals of any kind in our bread. Our tasty bread is completely natural. We want you to enjoy it just as much as we enjoy. All our cakes contain fresh fruit and use either Spelt flour or Gluten free flour. Our famous Coconut & Almond cake is our best seller. Other cakes include Chocolate & Apple Spelt Cake. Pear & Ginger Spelt cake, Spelt Apple Muffins & Spelt berry buns. We are in St. Nicholas market every Saturday from 8am-5pm. There will always be some cake to sample. Come along and say hello.
